Visa has appointed John Njoroge as the new Country Manager and Senior Business Development Leader for Kenya, South Sudan and Somalia. In this role he will lead the expansion strategy, client relationships and digital payment adoption across the three countries.
Seasoned Digital Payments Professional
Njoroge has extensive experience in digital payments and financial technology with a background in banking solutions and strategic partnerships. His focus will be on the client portfolio, executive relationships, business opportunities and revenue growth for both Visa and clients.
Strengthening Digital Payment Solutions in East Africa

Strategic Objectives and Market Expansion
As Country Manager, Njoroge will set the strategic direction, lead key initiatives and roll out new products and services. His role will be critical in driving financial inclusion and secure, seamless and inclusive payment solutions for businesses and consumers in the region.

Fintech and Banking Provenance
Njoroge has over 20 years of experience in banking and fintech. Prior to joining Visa he was Regional Managing Director for East Africa at Network International. As former Chairman of the Kenya Credit & Debit Cards Association (KCDCA) he led industry wide transitions including the adoption of Near Field Contactless (NFC) technology, migration from magnetic stripe cards to Chip & PIN cards and best practices in card payment processes. He also worked with the Judiciary to develop legal frameworks to combat card fraud.
