Just a few days before we officially wrap up 2024, Samsung has officially opened its first Experience Store in Meru, which will be located at Greenwood City Mall. The milestone marks an important step in the tech giant's strategy of improving access and penetration of technology in Kenya.
A Step to Increase Technology Access
During the launch event, Samsung assured customers that the launch was part of its larger vision to ensure there's premium smartphone access as well as smart living within the country. The inauguration comes after the successful completion of nine other SES in East Africa.
Derrick Alenga, Retail Manager for the Mobile Experience Division at Samsung Electronics East Africa, commented on the new store:
The Generations store will allow us to connect with our customers in a more meaningful way and showcase the latest innovations from Samsung. We believe that by providing access to our premium products, we can enhance the lives of the people in Meru and support their technological needs."
What Customers Can Expect at the Meru Experience Store
The new store has an interactive experience that will allow customers in the region to engage with various Samsung products, from its flagship Galaxy smartphones and foldable devices to wearables, accessories, as well as home appliances. The store is strategically set up so as to allow customers to engage with the Samsung ecosystem of devices, consult about devices on individual basis and get after-sales support. The move is further enhanced with interactive displays and a fully trained staff to ensure that customers get a world-class retail experience which is tailored to local needs.
Competition in the tech sector here in Kenya has been ramping up for years now, and Samsung is betting the expansion here in Kenya as yet another way it seeks to flex muscles in the local market, which is deemed very important in the East African region. The strategy by Samsung comes when it currently enjoys 31.7% of the Kenyan Smartphone market share and is hoping it cements its position in the market.
The store which is located in Greenwood City Mall is likely to contribute towards increased sales and brand loyalty in the region. This is in line with Samsung's bigger strategy of making advanced technology accessible to various markets while contributing to smart living through its innovative range of products.
A Gateway to Smart Living
Meru residents will now be able to experience Samsung's innovative Galaxy ecosystem first-hand, including foldables as well as wearables. This launch highlights Samsung's commitment to the pursuit of bridging the digital divide and promoting modern ways of life here in Kenya.
The expansion will go a long way in increasing Samsung's presence near customers while contributing meaningfully to driving the adoption of technology in this region through investment in local communities and the creation of more avenues for the interaction of people with technologies.
