How to Connect Internet on your Computer using a Data enabled Phone
There are several methods and hardware options available to achieve internet connectivity on your computer. One such method is utilizing a data-enabled mobile phone, which can function as a modem and provide broadband internet access. In today's technologically advanced era, there are data-enabled handsets that support high-speed internet connectivity, such as 3G and 4G, enabling you to access fast internet on your computer.
In Kenya, for example, Safaricom offers 3G-enabled handsets that can deliver higher internet browsing and downloading speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. There are different connectivity methods that can be employed to establish internet access on your computer using a data-enabled mobile phone.
Bluetooth:
This wireless connectivity method requires both your computer and mobile phone to have Bluetooth functionality. By pairing your computer with the phone, you can establish a connection for internet access.
USB Connection:
This method involves physically connecting your mobile phone to the computer using a USB cable. This direct link allows for internet connectivity.
To access the internet on your computer using a data-enabled phone, you can follow these techniques:
Dial-Up Connection:
- Open the network connections from the control panel.
- Select "Create a new connection."
- The new connection wizard will appear. Choose "Connect to the internet" and click "Next."

ReplyDeletei would like to connect to the internet using my laptop via the kabambe 3G. the phone provides a similar interface as the safaricom modem but i dont have the settings i.e the username(which am told is saf) and password. i have tried to input the password as data but the internet connection promt is "device not found" could you please help?
